Companions
Hand a bot to a regular player, who orders it around by typing in chat.
Handing over a bot
/pvpbot owner set Fido Steve
/pvpbot owner list Steve
/pvpbot owner clear Fido
From then on Steve (even with no permissions) can order Fido around by typing in chat, the way you'd talk
to a teammate. The player has to be online when you set it.
Chat orders
A message only counts as an order if its sender owns at least one spawned bot, and the message contains the word bot (or bots) plus one of the orders below. Orders don't show up in chat for anyone else. Everything else goes through as normal, so you can talk about bots without giving orders by accident.
| Type | Also works | Effect |
|---|---|---|
bot follow | come, heel, escort | Follows you. |
bot guard | defend, post, hold | Guards the spot you're on, within 10 blocks. |
bot stay | wait, freeze | Stays where it is (paused). |
bot stop | halt, disengage, shutdown | Stops, and won't even hit back when hit. |
bot free | release, dismiss, roam, unleash | Clears its orders: it's free again. |
bot attack <name> | kill, fight, hunt | Attacks that player or bot. |
bot cancel | forget, calm, truce | Drops whoever it's fighting, without stopping following you or guarding. |
bot summon | teleport, warp | Teleports to you and clears whatever order it was stuck on. Once every 10 seconds. |
bot status | where, list | Says where your bots are and what they're doing. |
bot help | A summary of the orders. |
With no name, all of your bots obey. To order just one, include its name as well: bot Fido stay.
Self-defence
Companions always hit back at whoever hits them, even with the server's revenge setting off. The
exceptions are hits from their own owner, and the bot stop order.
When the owner logs out
When the owner disconnects, their bots aren't removed. They're parked high above the spawn of the
companions.holding-world world and paused, with health, inventory and faction intact. They only come back
when the owner types bot summon: rejoining the server isn't enough.
companions:
holding-world: test_world
test_world. If your server has no world by that name, the bots stay where they are and the
console says so: change it in config.yml to a world you have.
