Ghosts

Scenic NPCs that replay a recorded path or stare at you from a distance. They don't fight and can't be touched.

What they are

A ghost is a fake player like the bots, but kept out of everything else in the plugin. It doesn't fight, doesn't move on its own, doesn't count as a bot and doesn't show up in /pvpbot list. It can't be damaged, hit or interacted with. It appears and disappears with no chat message. Use ghosts for atmosphere, horror events and scenes.

The /ghost commands need pvpbot.admin.

Recording a path

/ghost record lap
/ghost stoprecord

Between the two commands PvpBot records your position every tick. It also records the blocks you break or place, and puts them back afterwards so the world stays clean. /ghost recordings lists the recordings, which are saved in plugins/PvpBot/ghost-recordings/.

A ghost that replays the path

/ghost spawn Wanderer lap

The ghost replays the path forever, exactly where you recorded it. It also redoes the block changes at the same moments and undoes them before starting over, so every lap starts from the same world.

A ghost that stares

/ghost stare Watcher

The ghost stands still and turns to face the nearest player. When a player gets within 6 blocks it silently vanishes. For the first 5 seconds after it's created it won't vanish, so it doesn't disappear in front of whoever just spawned it.

Skins and lines

Both kinds accept a skin and some lines at the end of the command:

  • With no skin: the ghost wears the skin of the account with its name;
  • skin:<name> borrows another account's skin;
  • skin:none uses the default one.
  • Lines: separated by |. The ghost says one in chat every 6 seconds, in turn, under its own name.
/ghost stare Steve skin:none Who's there?|...|Leave now
/ghost spawn Keeper lap skin:Notch You shouldn't be here
