Quick start

From your first bot to a small faction war, in a handful of commands.

Every command below needs pvpbot.admin (ops have it). You can type /bot instead of /pvpbot.

1. Your first bot#

/pvpbot spawn Marco

A bot called Marco appears where you stand. If a Minecraft account has that name, the bot wears its skin; otherwise it gets a random one (see Skins and names). Without a name, one is generated.

A new bot leaves you alone for a few seconds (spawn-grace), then sizes you up for a moment (reaction-ticks) before attacking.

2. Give it some gear#

A new bot has an empty inventory and fights with its fists. The quickest fix is to save your own inventory as a kit and hand it over:

/pvpbot kit save diamond
/pvpbot kit give diamond Marco

The bot puts on the best armour and holds the best weapon it carries by itself (auto-equip).

3. Make it fight#

/pvpbot attack Marco Steve
/pvpbot spawn Luca
/pvpbot fight Marco Luca
/pvpbot stop Marco

attack sends Marco after Steve. fight sets two bots on each other (even with bot-vs-bot off). stop calls it off.

4. Lots of bots at once#

/pvpbot spawn 10
/pvpbot kit give diamond latest
/pvpbot follow latest Steve circle

This spawns 10 bots with generated names (50 at most per command), gives them all the kit and has them escort Steve in a circle. latest is a selector: it means everything the last spawn created, so you don't have to type ten names.

5. Two factions at war#

/pvpbot faction create red
/pvpbot faction create blue
/pvpbot spawn 5
/pvpbot faction join red latest
/pvpbot spawn 5
/pvpbot faction join blue latest
/pvpbot faction hostile red blue

The two factions' bots now attack each other on sight. Real players are put in the player faction automatically. More on Factions.

6. Change the difficulty#

/pvpbot preset casual
/pvpbot preset sweaty
/pvpbot preset off

casual makes bots slow and sloppy, sweaty turns everything on with sharp reactions, and off goes back to config.yml as written. Or change a single setting: /pvpbot set skill 70. The full list is on Settings.

7. Clean up#

/pvpbot remove Marco
/pvpbot removeall
